One Villa or Multiple Villas? Group Accommodation in Crete

Staying together does not always mean sharing one front door. For families, friends and wedding guests, separate villas close to each other can work better: the group spends time together, and each household keeps its own bedrooms, bathrooms and daily rhythm.

What “Multiple Villas” Means

  • Same dates: one group stays in two or three private villas at the same time.
  • A home for each household: its own bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen and pool.
  • No moving: nobody changes villa halfway through the holiday.

The Multiple-Villa Test

Answer these five questions before adding a second villa:

QuestionIf the answer is yes
Can every guest be placed in a clear household?Separate villas will give privacy, not arguments
Do households keep different sleep, meal or child-care routines?Separate villas remove daily friction
Will each household look after its own kitchen, keys and arrival?Separate villas are easy to run
Can the group agree where shared meals and outings start?No villa turns into a common area all day
Do extra bathrooms and quiet space matter more than one roof?This is usually the deciding point

Who Separate Villas Suit

GroupWhy separate villas help
Two familiesEach family runs its own meals, children and bedtimes, and meets the other for outings or dinner
Grandparents, parents and childrenQuiet mornings for grandparents, early starts and naps for the children. Villa Argiris has all its indoor spaces on one level, if steps matter (see Multigenerational Family Trip to Crete)
Wedding guestsEach household gets ready and comes back to its own home (see Best Villas near Rethymno for Wedding Guests and Stay near Agreco Farm)
Friends arriving at different timesLate arrivals do not wake a whole house
Small teams and retreatsSeparate homes for sleep, shared space to work and meet, free 200 Mbps Wi-Fi in every villa

When One Villa Is Better

  • The group is small and the bedrooms fit naturally.
  • Everyone wants one shared kitchen and table.
  • The stay is short and routines are similar.
  • Nobody needs extra privacy.

Choose by how the group lives, not by the biggest number of beds.

What Does It Cost?

A multi-villa stay costs the same as the villas booked separately: there is no extra charge for MAZI.

What the Group Should Agree

  • which household stays in each villa;
  • where and when shared meals happen;
  • the written agreement for pool use, with children always supervised;
  • who talks to Argyris for the group;
  • cars, parking and keys;
  • the meeting point for outings;
  • arrival times and luggage;
  • when quiet time begins.

Transport is not included in the villa stay. Argyris can introduce you to independent local providers for car hire, private transfers or larger vehicles; the provider confirms vehicle, price, payment and cancellation terms directly with you.

From Argyris

Separate villas work when the group agrees what will be shared and what will remain private. Before booking, decide which household belongs in each villa and where everyone will meet. That small conversation prevents the group from treating every house as a common area all day.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Does choosing separate villas mean changing accommodation during the holiday?

No. The group uses more than one private villa during the same dates, with each household keeping its own base throughout the stay.

Is it better for a group to stay in one villa or more than one?

It depends on the households. One villa can simplify a smaller stay; separate villas can work better when guests need more privacy, bathrooms, different routines or separate arrival plans.

Which Amazing Villas in Crete arrangement may suit 12, 14 or 20 guests?

For up to 12 guests, MAZI can combine Villa Kitron with Villa Myrrini. For up to 14, it can combine Villa Asteri with either Villa Kitron or Villa Myrrini. For up to 20, MAZI combines all three villas in Asteri Village. Availability is confirmed for every required home.

What is MAZI?

MAZI combines two or three of Villa Asteri, Villa Kitron and Villa Myrrini in Asteri Village, for up to 12, 14 or 20 guests. The villas remain separate private homes.

How far apart are the MAZI villas?

About 30 m between Villa Asteri and Villa Kitron, 60 m between Villa Kitron and Villa Myrrini, and 90 m between Villa Asteri and Villa Myrrini, all in Asteri Village. Ask Argyris about steps and slopes if walking is difficult for anyone in the group.

Does MAZI cost more than booking the villas separately?

No. MAZI costs the same as the villas booked separately, with no extra charge. You receive one combined proposal, and each villa keeps its own booking reference and payment.

Is Villa Argiris part of MAZI?

No. Villa Argiris is in Stavromenos, about 2.6 km from Asteri, and is not part of MAZI. For groups of more than 20, it can be booked separately together with MAZI, for up to 28 guests in two locations.

What should a group agree before booking separate villas?

Agree the household allocation, shared meals, pool expectations, meeting points, cars, host contact, arrival waves and quiet times before travelling.

Is there a minimum stay?

Yes. The minimum stay varies by villa and season, and the booking engine confirms it for your dates. For a wedding weekend or another short stay, ask Argyris what is possible.

Ask Which Setup Fits the Group

Tell Argyris how many guests are coming, the household groups, bedroom priorities, children’s ages, mobility questions and arrival pattern. Argyris can then help you compare one villa with a two- or three-villa MAZI arrangement.
