Who MAZI is for

For groups who want to stay close without sharing one house

Family reunions

Bring different branches of the family together while each household keeps its own bedrooms, kitchen, pool and daily rhythm.

Multi-generational holidays

Space for grandparents, parents and children to stay close, without asking everyone to share one living arrangement.

Groups of friends

One village base, with separate bedrooms, kitchens and quieter spaces when the group needs them.

Wedding guests

Relatives and friends can stay near one another before and after a wedding held elsewhere in the Rethymno area. The villas are for accommodation, not for ceremonies, receptions or parties.

Small teams and retreats

A calm base for a small team or a retreat of up to 20 people, with a villa for each group and 200 Mbps Wi-Fi in every villa. Best outside the peak summer weeks; the villas are open all year, with heating in every room and a fireplace in the living room. Tell Argyris what you plan.

Walking and cycling groups

Explore the Rethymno hills, gorges and the Psiloritis foothills by day, then return to your own villa and pool. Spring and autumn suit walking and cycling best.

Which MAZI configuration fits your group?

Guest numbers are the maximum number of guests. The room plan decides the better pairing, so tell Argyris how the group divides.

Up to 12 guests

Villa Kitron + Villa Myrrini. 6 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms + 1 WC. About 60 m apart on foot. Myrrini has the children’s pool; Kitron has a bathroom for every bedroom.

Up to 14 guests

Villa Asteri + Villa Kitron. 7 bedrooms, 7 bathrooms + 1 WC. The closest pair, about 30 m apart on foot.

Up to 14 guests

Villa Asteri + Villa Myrrini. 7 bedrooms, 6 bathrooms. Both villas have a children’s pool. About 90 m apart on foot.

Up to 20 guests

All three villas. 10 bedrooms, 9 bathrooms + 1 WC, three private pools and three kitchens.

More than 20 guests?

Villa Argiris, our fourth villa, is in a different location: Stavromenos, about 2.6 km from Asteri Village, a short drive away. It is not part of MAZI and is booked separately, subject to availability. Together with the three MAZI villas it allows up to 28 guests in two locations. Ask Argyris whether it can work for your group.

More time together. Fewer compromises.

  • Separate sleeping areas: six, seven or ten bedrooms, depending on the villas you choose.
  • Independent daily routines: each villa has its own kitchen and living spaces.
  • Several outdoor settings: each household has its own pool and outdoor area.
  • Shared plans without constant coordination: meet for outings and meals, then return to your own villa.
  • One village base: all three villas are in Asteri, with Rethymno and day trips within reach.
What is MAZI?

Close enough to share the holiday. Separate enough to keep your own rhythm.

MAZI is a flexible multi-villa stay in Asteri, near Rethymno. It combines two or all three of Villa Asteri, Villa Kitron and Villa Myrrini, depending on the group. Each villa remains independent, with its own bedrooms, kitchen, living spaces, outdoor area and private pool.

MAZI means “together” in Greek. That’s the whole idea: families and friends close enough to share the holiday, while each household keeps its own home, pool and pace.

MAZI is simply a way for a group to stay together. It isn’t a resort, a private village, one big villa or an event venue. I look after the villas and give you local advice; each villa is a private home for the people staying in it.

  1. Tell us about your group Your dates, adults and children, households, room needs and the reason for the trip.
  2. Argyris helps plan the arrangement He looks at the group and suggests how the villas and bedrooms could be shared.
  3. Receive one combined proposal Availability and prices are checked across every villa you need before a personal quote is sent.

Questions about MAZI

About MAZI

What is MAZI?

MAZI is a group stay that combines two or three of Villa Asteri, Villa Kitron and Villa Myrrini, independent villas with private pools in Asteri Village near Rethymno.

How many guests can stay in MAZI?

Up to 12, 14 or 20 guests, depending on which two or three villas you choose: Villa Kitron + Villa Myrrini for up to 12, Villa Asteri with Villa Kitron or Villa Myrrini for up to 14, and all three villas for up to 20.

Can we book only two of the three villas?

Yes. Two-villa stays are MAZI configurations, subject to the availability of each villa. Villa Kitron with Villa Myrrini sleeps up to 12 guests; Villa Asteri with Villa Kitron or Villa Myrrini sleeps up to 14.

Can we bring a team or run a retreat at MAZI?

Yes, for groups of up to 20, with a villa for each group and free 200 Mbps Wi-Fi in every villa. We have no meeting room or space for workshops. Tell Argyris what you plan; the villas are not for parties or events with outside guests.

Are the three villas in one building or a gated compound?

No. They are three independent villas in the village of Asteri, a short walk apart: about 30 m between Villa Asteri and Villa Kitron, 60 m between Villa Kitron and Villa Myrrini, and 90 m between Villa Asteri and Villa Myrrini. Ask Argyris about steps and slopes on the routes if this matters for your group.

What if we are more than 20 guests?

The full MAZI configuration accommodates up to 20 guests. For larger groups there is also Villa Argiris, in a different location: Stavromenos, about 2.6 km from Asteri Village. It is not part of MAZI and is booked separately; together with the three MAZI villas it allows up to 28 guests in two locations. Ask Argyris whether it can work for one household of your group; availability and the travel plan between the two locations are confirmed case by case.

Pools, meals and shared time

Does every villa have its own pool?

Yes. Each villa has a private pool. Villa Asteri and Villa Myrrini also have a separate children’s pool, and Villa Kitron has integrated hydromassage in its main pool. Children must always be supervised by an adult around every pool.

Can we use the pools of the other villas?

Guests in a MAZI group may use the pools of the villas in their booking only with a written agreement. Children must always be supervised and may use the pools only with their parents present.

Can the whole group eat together?

Yes, on request. Meals together can be arranged at one of the villas. Agree with Argyris before arrival which villa hosts the meal and how many people will join, so the table and space are ready. A private chef or catering is available on request.

Is breakfast included?

Direct MAZI bookings include the Cretan Breakfast Basket at each booked villa, for all dates. Grocery pre-stocking and a private chef can be arranged on request.

Families and weddings

Yes. MAZI is designed for groups who want to stay close while each household keeps its own bedrooms, kitchen, living space and pool.

Which villa suits grandparents or guests who prefer fewer steps?

None of the villas is wheelchair accessible. Villa Kitron has a ground-floor twin bedroom with its own en-suite and one step at the entrance. Villa Asteri has two ground-floor bedrooms with a small step at the entrance. Villa Myrrini is on one level inside but is reached by 17 steps from the parking. Argyris can help you place each household.

Can wedding guests stay in MAZI?

Yes. MAZI can accommodate wedding guests attending a celebration elsewhere in the Rethymno area.

Can we hold a wedding, ceremony or party at the villas?

No. The villas are for accommodation only, not for weddings, ceremonies, receptions, parties or events.

Booking and getting here

How do we check availability and prices?

Send a MAZI enquiry. Argyris checks every villa you need for the same dates and sends one combined proposal. The price is the sum of the current direct-booking prices of the villas you choose, with no separate MAZI charge.

Is there a minimum stay for MAZI?

There is no separate MAZI minimum. The minimum stay varies by villa and season, and Argyris confirms it for your dates in the proposal. For a shorter stay, for example a wedding weekend, ask Argyris what is possible for your dates.

Is there cleaning during the stay?

Yes, for stays of 6 nights or more: each villa has one clean during a 6- or 7-night stay, and more for longer stays, with three cleans in two weeks. Bed linen and towels are changed at each clean.

Are pets allowed?

Pets are welcome on request. Please ask Argyris before booking, so he can confirm for your dates and villas.

Are there any taxes or fees on top of the price?

No. The Greek government climate resilience fee (€15 per villa per night from April to October, €4 from November to March) is included in the price and paid at the villa during your stay, not with the deposit; if you do not arrive, it is not charged.

How quickly will we hear back?

Argyris replies personally, usually within 12 hours.

Can Argyris help us plan the rooms?

Yes. Share who is travelling, how many households are coming and what matters most, such as children’s arrangements, quieter rooms or ground-floor bedrooms, and Argyris will suggest the best two- or three-villa configuration.

Do we need a car?

A car is recommended for shopping, beaches, Rethymno and day trips. From the airports, hire a car or book a private transfer (taxi or minivan); Argyris can help arrange cars, transfers or a larger vehicle for the group through independent local providers.

Arrange MAZI with Argyris

Plan your MAZI stay

MAZI isn’t booked online as one property; you arrange it with me. Tell me your dates, who’s coming and how the group splits into households. I’ll check which villas are available together, tell you which combination fits and give you the price for booking directly. Because I check the villas together, the room plan is agreed before anyone pays, not after.

Prefer to plan it household by household? Use the Group Stay Planner and send the plan to Argyris from there.
