Villa Argiris — Sea views, privacy and outdoor living near Rethymno

Space to gather. Views to slow down.
Villa Argiris welcomes up to eight guests to a private olive-grove setting in Stavromenos, near Rethymno. All four bedrooms and the shared indoor spaces are arranged on one ground-floor level, while the outdoor day unfolds between a sea-view pool and an upper pergola made for meals, conversation and sunset.
Villa Argiris is a private four-bedroom villa for up to eight registered guests in Stavromenos near Rethymno, with every bedroom on one ground-floor level, a 34 m² overflow pool in an olive grove and an upper pergola with a BBQ and wood-fired oven, 800 m from the nearest beach.
Every bedroom on one level Four bedrooms and four shower bathrooms, all on the ground floor.
An overflow pool in an olive grove 34 m² private pool in an enclosed, green setting.
An upper pergola for long evenings Dining, sofas, BBQ and a traditional wood-fired oven, one level above the pool.
Villa Argiris is made for the kind of holiday where everyone has room, but the moments people remember still happen together. Mornings can begin slowly by the pool. Afternoons can remain unplanned or move towards the coast and Rethymno. Later, the group can gather under the pergola as the light changes across the sea and olive grove.
Inside, four bedrooms and four bathrooms mean parents, relatives, couples or friends can keep their own routines without getting in each other’s way. The living room, sitting area and kitchen are the heart of the house, and the living room and one double bedroom look out to the sea.
What guests remember here isn’t a list of amenities. It’s breakfast with no timetable, a long meal outdoors, children and adults drifting between pool and pergola, or a cooler evening by the wood-burning fireplace.
“Spacious villa, short walk to nearest store to get food. lots of bedrooms and bathrooms! lovely porch where you can sit in the shade, and a great pool.”— Elias, guest · Airbnb ★★★★★ · July 2025
Pool and outdoor spaces · Villa Argiris
Two outdoor levels, each with a different rhythm
The lower level
The lower outdoor level is centred on the private overflow pool. It covers approximately 34 m², measures about 5 x 6.75 metres and increases gradually in depth from around 1.00 to 1.50 metres. The pool is not heated and does not have hydromassage.
Eight sunbeds, four umbrellas and an outdoor shower support long poolside days. From here, the view opens towards the sea, olive grove and surrounding nature.
The upper pergola
Six steps take you up to the pergola, the main place to eat and sit outside. With a large table, two sofas, a BBQ and a traditional wood-fired oven, it’s made for slow lunches and long evenings. You can still see the pool from up here, and the sunset comes with dinner, no drive needed.
Pool safety
Villa Argiris does not have a separate children’s pool. The main pool is not separately fenced or gated, although the overall property is enclosed. Children must be supervised by a parent or accompanying adult at all times in and around the pool.
Bedrooms and bathrooms · Villa Argiris
A clear single-level indoor layout
All four bedrooms, all four bathrooms, the kitchen, living room and sitting area are arranged on the same ground-floor interior level. There are no internal steps or level changes inside the house. Choose a photo to see the room.
Bed setup. As standard: two double rooms (150 × 200 cm and 180 × 200 cm) and two twin rooms. On request (€20 per change), the single beds in both twin rooms can be joined into 180 × 200 cm doubles, so the villa can have four double rooms; or the 180 × 200 cm double can be split into two 90 × 200 cm singles, for three twin rooms. Tell Argyris your preferred setup before you arrive.
Double bedroom 1
Double bed 150 × 200 cm · sea view
En-suite bathroom with shower, WC and sink.
Double bedroom 2
Double bed 180 × 200 cm · can be split into two single beds 90 × 200 cm on request
Separate bathroom right next to the bedroom, with shower, WC and sink; in practice it is this room’s own bathroom. The washing machine and dryer are also here.
Twin bedroom 1
Two single beds 90 × 200 cm · can be joined into a 180 × 200 cm double on request
En-suite bathroom with shower, WC and sink.
Twin bedroom 2
Two single beds 90 × 200 cm · can be joined into a 180 × 200 cm double on request
En-suite bathroom with shower, WC and sink.
The arrangement is useful for two families, a multi-generational group or friends travelling together because every bedroom has a clear private bathroom relationship, even though the second double bedroom’s bathroom is not technically en-suite.
An honest note about access
Access from the parking area to the main entrance involves two steps and no additional slope. Once inside, the principal accommodation is on one level, and there are no steps between the house and pool area. The upper pergola is reached by six steps. Villa Argiris is not officially wheelchair accessible or completely step-free. Guests with mobility requirements should speak with Argyris before booking so that the real layout can be considered against their individual needs.

“We stayed in the villa with a group of 8 friends. We had a really nice stay. The swimming pool was really nice, as well as the outside seating area. You can enjoy whole days here together. The villa is private with no neightbours close to the villa, so not too much worries about noise.”

Villa Argiris or Villa Asteri?
Choose Villa Argiris when…
You prioritise panoramic sea views, olive-grove privacy and a near-coast Stavromenos base.
You prefer all four bedrooms and shared indoor spaces on one interior level.
A private pool and layered outdoor dining matter more than a children’s pool.
You want proximity to Stavromenos services and the north-coast corridor.
Heating from the air conditioning and a wood-burning fireplace suit your cooler-season plans.
Choose Villa Asteri when…
You prioritise heritage character, an Asteri Village setting and the family home / carpentry story.
You are comfortable with a two-floor heritage villa and value its village layout.
A separate children’s pool is important to your group.
You want to stay beside Villa Kitron and near Villa Myrrini, with access to MAZI combinations.
The other three houses are together in Asteri Village, about 2.6 km from Stavromenos (around 4 minutes by car), and can be booked one at a time or together as MAZI.
Villa Argiris is in the wider Stavromenos area, in a private olive-grove setting east of Rethymno. The nearest beach is approximately 800 metres away, but the villa is not beachfront and does not have private beach access. Rethymno Old Town is approximately 11 km away, or around 15 minutes by car under normal conditions.
Shops and several places to eat are close by, but you’ll want a car for Rethymno, the beaches and exploring further. Distances and times are approximate and depend on route, traffic, opening times and road conditions.
Argyris is the owner and local host behind Amazing Villas in Crete. Before booking, he can help with practical questions about bedroom allocation, the two entrance steps, the six steps to the pergola, the pool, nearby services and whether Villa Argiris or one of our other villas fits the group more naturally.
Booking directly keeps that conversation connected to the people who know the property. Availability, prices and any external arrangements remain subject to confirmation; the aim is not to pressure the decision, but to make it clearer.
Hosted by the owner, not a management company. Guests remember the details: a birthday cake left for them, wood fetched for the wood-fired oven, a taxi arranged at the last minute, a personal welcome at check-in.

The price you see is the full price: it includes VAT and the Greek government climate resilience fee (€15 per night from April to October, €4 from November to March). Everything is paid online except the climate resilience fee, which by law is paid at the villa during your stay, not with the deposit.
How do you pay?
By card, on the payment page of our booking engine — Visa, Mastercard and American Express are accepted, and your card details go to the booking engine rather than to us. We will never ask you to pay by bank transfer, and we will never ask for a card number by email or message. The deposit, the balance date and the cancellation terms for your dates are shown before you confirm and repeated in your confirmation email.
